Your delight sounds wonderful 😊 I could use a hot tub today with the weather getting colder.
I tried time chunking and it worked so well! Chores, bike ride, dog walk and a family afternoon film on Sunday. I’ll definitely keep trying to do it. Thank you for the inspiration.
Oh, that's so great to hear! I definitely need to personally work on chunking the chores, because otherwise they expand to fill any available piece of time. (Laundry, I'm looking at you.)
And I don’t think I ever introduced myself. I’m Alix and I just moved back from Paris to Surrey with my husband, son and dog. So we’re all getting used to new place and new people. The dog has definitely adjusted best as he loves all the green space here 😊
I walked twice with a friend and spotted herons both times. I pointed out the first one to a runner and she said “Oh, that’s Henry. I named him.” Delight!
The next day we saw another heron (not Henry) and right next to him, a raccoon! Delight! The raccoon disappeared and we peered into the culverts to see where she went. A group of cyclists rode by and one of them said “There’s a human down there.” More delight! What was he expecting? A bear? 😊
Love this post! I did test out time chunking! And lo and behold, it worked. I didn't do an "escape" but I checked off "physical" and "social." And while I was being social, my husband took our kids to a Maker Faire where they got to try a flight simulator in a full-sized airplane, so the rest of my family got the "escape" memo.
It was my birthday so I had it pretty easy. I had actually remembered to invite people over, so the social need was met. Sunday I slept in and had cake for breakfast, leftover party food for dinner (the dips made me think of Oliver Putnam from Only Murders in the Building, hahaha).

I was sick all weekend. But it wasn’t too bad. Feeling better today.
I worked Saturday, my last day before a 10 day vacation. Sunday was a great day for worship, fellowship and napping.
I am trying to be more intentional about me time for chilling and relaxing.
