I loved this piece, and am thrilled to discover your Substack, Catherine! I have always struggled with Sunday evenings, as they feel inherently sad (despite enjoying my work), so I've made a point in recent years to have a really nice sit-down dinner with my kids and husband, almost always inviting close friends to join. We set the table beautifully and make dessert and play jazz in the background. These Sunday Family Dinners, as we refer to them, are something I look forward to all weekend. They elevate the mood and leave everyone feeling like the weekend was a great success.

I definitely find a lot of overlap in what I do on the weekends and what I do on vacation. I appreciate this useful information about improving your quality of life.

Love this! And I will put it into action this weekend. Already have my chunks worked out and will switch to my light phone for Sat and Sun to increase my presence in the moment

It's an adjustment but I almost always feel better when my phone is off or away. It felt good to give myself permission to relax and enjoy my weekend without being available.
