I have been addicted to several things over the years, and while I agree, please don't use that as excuse not to try. And aim for incremental improvement, not perfection. It can be overcome, Colleen. You can do it!
I have long contended that phones are basically adult pacifiers. The way people clutch onto them, like a cherished lovey; a blanket or stuffed companion.
I do that sometimes, focus on others, judging them. I find it's a distraction from myself. I try to stop judging others and focus on myself, on my own behavior. It's the only thing I can change, and the only thing I have any control over.
I feel lonely because Im away from my family Im hoping this will improve once I kove nearer to them in April ...Im married but my husband isnt a talkative person and has ADHD
I use my phone to research stuff like bird song, plants I don't recognise and other stuff. I've managed to stop taking it into the bedroom but still take it on walks because I worry about accidents.
I try to keep my phone in another room at night, but sometimes I slip, so thank you for the reminder Catherine. Even more importantly, thank you for the challenge to not use my phone for an hour a day. That alone may save my marriage. I'm exaggerating, kind of, but thank you. If I can successfully accept your challenge, my wife will be an even bigger fan. She still walks around and puts her finger in the air and says "delight!" which is a delight for me. Anyhow, I have a habit of keeping my phone with me when we watch TV, in case I need to check something out on IMBD, right?? Well last night I turned the ringer on, just in case someone called, but left it on a table in an adjoining room and it stayed there for 4 hours! It can be done, folks, and maybe you'll need to work up to an hour a day, but it can be done.
I’ve recently discovered Instagram (yup…late to the party..) and am astounded by how much time I’m wasting on it! I think I watch videos and scroll for 10 mins, only to discover I should’ve gone to sleep 30 mins ago! I’m definitely deleting this app for the weekend!
My office has TERRIBLE cell phone reception and no wi-fi (LOL, I work for the federal government), so the phone is regularly in my backpack for the duration of the work day. Yes, it's annoying. But also - it's the best thing ever. Over the decade I've worked in this job it's established a habit of not using the phone, which has bled into home life.
My husband didn't know I have been spying on his phone remotely for over 9 months now without him even noticing what is going on, he doesn't even know I see his dirty talks with a lot of married and single girl leaving around our neighborhood, he would send them money from time to time and also hang out with them, while he sometimes comes back home Late then Lies whenever I ask of his whereabouts , I made contact with one of his side links and I warned her to stay away from him because I really love him. I was able to get the information's I needed with the help of TECHWIZARD64 at gmail com , The best when it comes to phone cracking/ spying , they helped me know the truth.
You made it possible for me to see my partner's GPS live location, chat histories, present chats, text messages, incoming and outgoing calls, social media chats I could see everything I needed to. I had all the evidence i needed to confront her because she had a lot of lies to tell and I was able to file for divorce I had it to my neck already, So grateful to Mr Peter at least I called off the gad damn marriage. Though this breaks my heart because this was a marriage I invested a lot on but its satisfying at the same time because I'm no longer getting fooled. contact: TECHWIZARD64 At Gmail dot com if you want to find out the truth.

Not judgement, merely observation.

Wow, those questions on why I reach for my phone are deep. Things I've tried not to think about before. But need to. Truly, thanks for forcing me to!
Maybe you should add "(bad) habit?

Lucky you! There are ways to use, say, the Freedom app to get a similar result.
